Huge congratulations to our Chairman, Andrew Horncastle, who has received an MBE in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to charity and business in the community in East Yorkshire.

Andrew was very shocked to receive such an honour but is delighted that the work he has been involved with over the past few years has been recognised.

Speaking about the award, Andrew said “It was very unexpected.  For me, the biggest reward is working alongside people who are passionate about, and dedicated to, seeing this region punch above its weight. Seeing something you’ve worked on help our local economy or the health or wellbeing of the people who live here, is what I love the most.

I’d also like to make clear that while this is an individual honour, I’ve had some great people around me who have supported me in being able to do what I do. So, for me, it is recognition of the collective efforts of all of those. After all, there are a lot of people who give a great deal of time to this region, they want to see the area prosper and they want to help build a better local society with greater opportunities for local people and local businesses. This award is for them too”.

Well done Andrew, we are all very proud of your achievement and encourage you to keep up the good work!
