In addition to our ongoing support for The Prince’s Trust, this year Horncastle Group also sponsored the Young Ambassador of the Year Award at the Yorkshire and Humber Celebrate Success Awards. Selina Aziz was the deserving winner of the award; she had initially turned to the Prince’s Trust for help and subsequently became a young ambassador herself, helping to give other young people the support and inspiration they needed to turn their lives around. With the help of the Enterprise Programme, Selina has also been able to establish a successful entertainment company.
Also this year Horncastle Group PLC and MKM Building Supplies jointly sponsored the Start up Business of the Year Award at the annual Mail News and Media Business Awards 2011. The awards ceremony was an excellent evening that showcased the huge range of local companies that were operating successfully despite the poor economic climate. Top Lifting Ltd were the winners of the Start up Business of the Year Award. After setting up 18 months ago to carry out hire, sales, repair and testing of industrial lifting equipment the company has since trebled its staff, extended its vehicle fleet and seen gross profits climbing. We hope Top Lifting Ltd and all of the other winners and nominees continue their success during 2012.
