Water voles return to Brough South

Forty water voles – one of the UK’s rarest mammals – have been released into a specially created habitat at Brough South. The release, which was watched by pupils from Hunsley Primary – a brand new school on Brough South – follows the removal of around 20 water voles in 2017 from the development site, to make way for groundworks. Congratulations to Andrew Horncastle MBE

Huge congratulations to our Chairman, Andrew Horncastle, who has received an MBE in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to charity and business in the community in East Yorkshire. Big thank you to Brough residents for helping to protect ground nesting birds

The Brough South Consortium would like to thank dog walkers and other recreational users of the former BAE airfield for observing new signs asking people not to disturb the surrounding land. The airfield is home to a range of ground nesting birds, some of which are endangered, and as such it has been designated an Ecological Management Area, to ensure the birds are protected. Brough Relief Road Wins Prestigious Engineering Award

Horncastle Group welcomes ERYC announcement on Brough relief road

The Horncastle Group PLC has welcomed news that work on phase three of the Brough relief road could get underway this year. East Riding of Yorkshire Council announced that they are seeking planning permission for the £6.5m development, and that subject to approval, work could start in the new financial year, which gets underway on April 1st. The road will ease town-centre congestion by linking the southern point of Skillings Lane with Moor Road, meaning that once completed, traffic will no longer be confined to the current town centre route. New school opens on Brough South Development

Hunsley Primary - a new primary school on the £200m Brough South development - has been completed and opened in December 2018. Hunsley Primary sits on a 1.4ha site in the mixed residential, retail, leisure and commercial scheme, currently being built in the east of the town on the south side of the Hull to Selby railway track.
